I’m Lindsey, the artist and instructor behind Hello Hydrangea.
I started my personal blog, Hello Hydrangea as a creative outlet during my sophomore year at Brigham Young University. It remained a side project for years as I got married, graduated, and began my career as a marketing designer and director in the craft and fashion industries. I began weaving in 2013 as a way to use up my yarn stash, and have been weaving ever since! I always loved sharing tutorials on my blog, and continue to do that through my online video classes.
Hello Hydrangea became my full time focus when I had my first son in 2016. I absolutely adore my job! Every day I get to help teach and mentor other hobbyists and artists around the world who come to me with questions and advice about weaving, macrame, balancing work and motherhood, and finding time to be creative. I believe that creativity is more than just making art, it’s an important part of self care! My goal is to make it as easy as possible to encourage creativity and make the most of my student’s limited time.
I’m not the only one who believes in the mission of Hello Hydrangea. Through this platform, I’ve had the privilege of working with some of my favorite brands, written two books (launching 2019), expanded my video classes beyond weaving, sent my woven goods around the world, employed and partnered with other amazing artisans, and of course connected with thousands of students through live workshops, emails and social media.
