I helped launch the first triangle shape loom a few years ago and love using these tools. There are lots of different shapes these days, and this tutorial works for all of them.

The most common question I get is ‘Can you take the weaving off the loom when you’re done?’

A - Technically, yes! If you had a metal hoop in the same size and shape you could probably cut the project off of the loom and sew it onto another structure. However, these looms weren’t made for that purpose. These are meant to be one-time-us materials that become a part of the finished piece. They provide structure to the weaving so that it stays in the shape you want and can be hung or lean up on a shelf. The frame almost disappears behind the weaving and lets your design shine in a shape that would otherwise be impossible to achieve on a regular loom.
