May's Project: Pibione

mws

At the beginning of 2019 I decided to start a special project called the Monthly Weaving Series. Each month I create a brand new video class covering exclusively for subscription members. It is a way for me to explore all of the weaving techniques on my list of to-do projects, and share it with YOU so that you can follow along and make something beautiful of your own.

I encourage participants to share their progress on Instagram, using #monthlyweavingseries .

May’s project is one of my very favorite weaving techniques called Pibione. Pibione creates patterns on the surface of the tapestry through little bumps called ‘pibione’ (meaning grapes in Italian.) In August, 2018 I taught this technique as part of an exclusive kit with The Crafters Box, which you can learn more about HERE, but there is even more to learn about advanced Pibione techniques, which I have been itching to share - May’s project seemed like the perfect time to do so!
